According to Tim Ingham, writing for Music Business Worldwide, Suno has unveiled Studio 2.0, a significant upgrade to its digital audio workstation. The company’s web-based platform is intended to serve experienced music creators, not just casual users.
This latest iteration introduces several enhancements, including support for MIDI, a beta-version AI chat feature, and improved stem separation capabilities, alongside new audio effects and automation options. Suno’s Studio Product Manager, Henry Phipps, detailed the changes in a recent blog post.
Previously, Suno announced restrictions on song downloads for its user base, scheduled to begin September 3. While free users will have a lifetime download limit of seven songs, and Pro and Premier subscribers will have monthly caps, the company is removing download limits for Premier subscribers using Studio 2.0.
The latest version also enables musicians to record audio from instruments directly into the platform, which can then be modified using Suno’s artificial intelligence tools. Premier subscribers can now export music in a high-quality format, including 32-bit/48kHz multitracks and stems.
