Italian developer Suonobuono has launched a new hybrid wavetable synthesizer, the Polyvera, for pre-order. The instrument combines digital oscillators with analog filter circuitry to evoke the character of vintage samplers like the E-mu SP1200 and AKAI S900 while referencing the warm, gritty tones of 1980s analog synths such as the Waldorf Microwave and PPG Wave. The Polyvera was the result of a four-year design effort focused on modern functionality paired with retro sonic identity.
The desktop unit supports six-voice polyphony and provides two oscillators per voice to expand its sonic range. Suonobuono aims to deliver a contemporary synthesizer that remains deeply influenced by the sound palette of the 1980s.
The Polyvera is currently available for pre-order, allowing buyers to reserve their instruments ahead of the official release. The project represents a notable example of recent innovation within the independent synthesizer development community.
