Sweetwater Sound President and CEO Mike Clem and Founder and Chairman of the Board Chuck Surack have been named to the Indianapolis Business Journal list of Indiana’s 250 Most Influential Business Leaders. The announcement highlights the executive leadership behind the Fort Wayne-based music technology company.
Clem was recognized for his leadership of Sweetwater, where he has served as CEO since 2023. His contributions include helping launch the company e-commerce division in 2003. This initiative built one of the first major music retail websites. Under this leadership, Sweetwater is now the nation’s largest online retailer of musical instruments and audio equipment.
Surack was honored as a civic leader for his impact through Surack Enterprises. He founded Sweetwater in 1979 and remains Chairman of the Board. The recognition underscores the company’s growth from its founding to its current status in the music industry.
Both leaders were selected for their respective contributions to business and civic sectors within the state. The Indianapolis Business Journal compiles the list annually to highlight key figures driving economic and community development across Indiana.
