The Zac Schulze Gang, a power trio, came together roughly five years ago in Gillingham, Kent, according to Vintage Guitar magazine. The group draws inspiration from iconic bands like Cream, Led Zeppelin, and Rory Gallagher, shaping their distinctive sound.
Recently, the band secured the title of U.K. Blues Emerging Band of the Year, marking a significant milestone in their career. Guitarist Zac Schulze’s setup includes a 1978 Stratocaster neck attached to a 1993 Squier Silver Series body, along with a Guild Aristocrat and a 2003 Gibson SG Classic.
Schulze’s amplification features a Roland Blues Cube Artist, complemented by an Ibanez Tube Screamer TS9 overdrive pedal and a Boss TU3 tuner. He employs both a pick and fingerstyle techniques, demonstrating influence from Joe Bonamassa.
The Zac Schulze Gang maintains a busy performance schedule, playing around 250 shows annually. Their first album, “Straight To It,” represents their initial foray into recorded music.
