Universal Audio has released native versions of its UAD EMT 140 Classic Plate Reverberator and UAD EMT 250 Classic Electronic Reverb plug-ins for macOS and Windows. The plug-ins do not require Apollo or UAD hardware and are officially endorsed by EMT International.
The EMT 140 models three plate reverb units captured at The Plant Studios in California. Its controls include damping and filters as well as balance, width and modulation settings.
The EMT 250 is based on an algorithm sourced from a unit at Ocean Way Recording in California. It includes reverb plus delay, phasing, chorus and echo effects.
“Some sounds never go out of style,” said Universal Audio CEO Bill Putnam Jr. “The EMT 140 and EMT 250 have inspired generations of great recordings, and we’re excited to bring them to even more creators.”
The plug-ins are available individually for an introductory price of $79 each, with a regular price of $149 each, and are included with UAD Spark. Universal Audio is also offering the UAD Mix Tape Pro bundle with the two reverbs and eight additional titles for $119 during August. Owners of the Apollo DSP versions are eligible for special upgrade pricing.
