Violet Audio has broadened the functionality of its dMix 128 digital mixer by incorporating a new MCP server, according to an announcement released on July 23, 2026.
Reporting from Violet Audio indicates that the addition of the MCP server enhances the mixer’s capacity for integration, automation, and AI-driven operation. Violet Audio US is headed by Phil Wagner. The server works in conjunction with the mixer’s existing web-based control system.
With the MCP server, external systems can interact with the dMix 128 using a format that is easily understood by machines. This capability provides a pathway for user control via conversational artificial intelligence platforms like ChatGPT.
The dMix 128 continues to support a variety of industry-standard protocols, including Open Sound Control (OSC), Audio-over-IP networking (AES67), and the SMPTE ST 2110-30 standard for audio transmission.
