After getting to know the long-lost dual op-amp based Big Muff Pi 2 for a bit, Electro-Harmonix thought to expand its tonal capabilities. The Big Muff Pi 2 with Tone Wicker now includes 2 of EHX’s favorite circuit modifiers, the TONE and WICKER switchers. This makes it the most versatile Big Muff Pi 2 yet!
The Big Muff Pi 2 with Tone Wicker features the same singing BMP sustain and signature mid-forward tone of the original. The familiar VOL/TONE/SUSTAIN knobs control the overall output, EQ, and gain level of the pedal respectively. The TONE switch bypasses the TONE knob and removes all EQ from the circuit for a full-band, unfiltered fuzz tone. The WICKER switch removes stock high frequency filters from the circuit and features 3 positions: FULL, HALF, and OFF. FULL adds high-end clarity and sizzle especially useful when dialing in darker settings on the TONE knob, while HALF adds just a touch of extra top-end. OFF brings you back to stock. Between these two switches, the Big Muff Pi 2 with Tone Wicker features 5 new modes of operation for dialing in a plethora of new muff flavors.
