Fender has expanded its American Vintage II series by introducing seven new finish options across its most popular electric guitar models, according to a report by MusicRadar. This refresh targets the premium vintage-reissue market by offering specific year-designated instruments with historically accurate aesthetics and nitrocellulose lacquer finishes.
MusicRadar details that the update includes three Telecaster variations: a 1963 model in Vintage Blonde with a rosewood fingerboard, a 1972 Thinline in Candy Apple Red with maple, and a 1975 Deluxe in Vintage Blonde featuring Wide Range CuNiFe humbuckers. A 1977 Tele Custom also returns in 3-Color Sunburst. The Stratocaster lineup gains a 1973 model in Olympic White and a 1961 version in Surf Green, both sporting slab rosewood fingerboards and aged hardware details.
Rounding out the release, a 1966 Jazz Bass arrives in Lake Placid Blue with white neck binding and a tortoiseshell pickguard. MusicRadar notes these instruments are available immediately through retail channels with prices starting at $2,499, which includes a hard-shell case. The expansion reinforces Fender’s strategy of catering to collectors seeking exacting period-correct specifications beyond standard production runs.
