inMusic has reportedly closed the Native Instruments UK office and removed key executives as it streamlines operations following its May acquisition of the German hardware and software manufacturer. MusicRadar reports that an inMusic representative confirmed the company is simplifying its organizational and legal structure, including the UK entity, to remove layers associated with previous private equity ownership.

According to MusicRadar, Native Instruments CEO Nick Williams and Chief Product and Technology Officer Simon Cross have exited their roles, with inMusic Europe CEO Richard Seymour appointed as a director for the UK branch. While inMusic declined to specify layoff numbers, MusicRadar notes prior reports suggesting approximately 100 employees across nearly all departments were affected since July. The parent company, which distributes brands like Akai Professional and Denon DJ, stated that product development remains a priority with new initiatives planned through 2027.

Despite inMusic describing Native Instruments as strategically important, the consolidation raises questions about immediate market consequences for retailers relying on the brand’s extensive distributor network. MusicRadar indicates that while the UK office closure threatens local jobs, inMusic is simultaneously hiring for engineering and data roles at its Cambridge headquarters, signaling a shift in operational focus within the music-products sector.
