Lithe Audio has released a new ceiling speaker featuring Auracast technology, according to Installation. The device, designated model BT8, incorporates Bluetooth 5.4 LE Audio capabilities to facilitate audio transmission.
Auracast allows for audio signals to be broadcast to numerous receiving devices simultaneously, a feature that expands the possibilities for audio distribution. Installation reports that the BT8 includes a built-in Class D amplifier to power the speaker.
The speaker’s versatility is highlighted by its suitability for various settings, including residential homes, commercial spaces, and assisted living facilities. A magnetic grille, designed to be painted, is included with the BT8. Furthermore, the speaker is rated IP44, making it suitable for use in environments like bathrooms and kitchens.
Beyond Bluetooth streaming and a 3.5mm line-in connection, the BT8 supports the creation of wireless speaker groupings through a master/receiver operational mode. This allows users to link multiple speakers together for a wider sound experience.
