Founded in 1894 and headquartered in Nashville, with a premier acoustic craftory in Bozeman, Montana, Gibson continues a legacy of world-class artisanship, legendary music partnerships, and progressive product innovations that are unrivaled. For more than a century, Gibson acoustics have been played by the most talented and influential music artists who continue to shape sound through modern music. Gibson’s world-famous J-45™ Standard, Hummingbird™ Standard, and SJ-200 Standard set the benchmark by which all acoustic guitars are measured. Now, Gibson’s skilled artisans in Bozeman have created these acoustic guitars with the rich sonic allure of solid rosewood bodies for exciting new tonal options. The Gibson J-45 Standard, Hummingbird Standard, and SJ-200 Standard are available worldwide at authorized dealers and on www.gibson.com

In Bozeman, Montana, Gibson carries on a tradition of acoustic instruments that dates back to the 1890s. The world has changed, but this art form has stayed much the same: Gibson acoustic guitars deliver a clear, rich sound from carefully chosen tonewoods crafted to improve with age and fit each dovetail neck joint by hand. For decades, the Gibson SJ-200, J-45, and Hummingbird guitars have provided the soundtrack to our lives, from campfire sing-alongs to concert stages, radio broadcasts, and playlists. Now, these familiar Gibson Standards are available with a new twist: beautiful rosewood backs and sides, bringing a richer bass response and greater harmonic complexity to the mix.

Explore the Gibson J-45 Standard, Hummingbird Standard, and SJ-200 Standard HERE.

J-45 Standard Rosewood:

A Rosewood-Bodied J-45 Workhorse

The J-45 is Gibson’s best-selling acoustic of all time. Nicknamed “The Workhorse” and first introduced in 1942, this iconic acoustic has become the cornerstone of our round-shoulder, dreadnought line. We are pleased to release a new version of the J-45 Standard with rosewood back and sides that delivers all of the playing and sonic characteristics you’d expect from the world-renowned J-45 but with slightly fuller bass response and overtone complexity due to the rosewood body. Also available as a left-handed model, these exceptional acoustic guitars come complete with an L.R. Baggs VTC under-saddle pickup and preamp system, making them stage and studio-readyfrom the moment you take them out of the included hardshell case.

Hummingbird Standard Rosewood:

The Versatile Hummingbird Standard, Now With a Rosewood Body

The Gibson Hummingbird is legendary for its versatility; it is equally at home strumming first-position chords and delivering soaring lead lines. We are pleased to release a new version of the Hummingbird Standard with rosewood back and sides that has all of the playing and sonic characteristics you’d expect from the world-renowned square-shouldered acoustic but with slightly fuller bass response and overtone complexity due to the rosewood body. The Hummingbird Standard’s mahogany neck has a comfortable rounded profileand mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays. Also available as left-handed models, these ‘birds have a TUSQ® nut, saddle, and bridge pins, gold Grover® Rotomatic® tuners, the iconic Hummingbird graphics on the pickguards, and are equipped with L.R. Baggs VTC electronics, so they’re ready to plug in on stage or in the studio. A Gibson hardshell case is included.

SJ-200 Standard Rosewood:

Rosewood Returns to the King of the Flat-Tops

The Gibson SJ-200 is the world’s most famous acoustic guitar and well deserves its designation as the “King of the Flat-Tops.” Often made with a maple back and sides, the earliest examples were instead made with rosewood bodies. Now Gibson is proud to release the SJ-200 Standard Rosewood, bringing rosewood back to this highly acclaimed and cherished model. In addition to the rosewood back and sides, it features a Sitka spruce top, a mahogany neck with a comfortable round profile and a rosewood fretboard with graduated crown mother-of-pearl inlays, a two-bar moustache bridge, TUSQ® bridge pins, saddle, and nut, and gold Grover Imperial™ tuners. It also comes equipped with the L.R. Baggs Anthem active under-saddle pickup and microphone system for superb studio-quality sound when plugged in, whether you’re recording or playing live. Also available in left-handed versions, a Gibson hardshell case is included.
